The application of ancient wars to our current wars.
It is my intent to show you the similarities between Gidgidoni's struggle and that of Werner K. an FBI agent trying desperately to catch and prosecute cyber-criminals. Unfortunately for Werner he doesn't have the one tactic on his side that helped Gidgiddoni win the war, unity. Werner is in a constant fight because after hunting down a suspect, a task that can take years, there is often nothing he can do because the suspect may live in a country with no laws to punish them or punishments so light they would never deter further attacks.
To put a little perspective to Werner's plight consider if Gidgidoni's people were spread out all over the land. When Giddianhi's men came to each town they would destroy them with hardly even a fight. Occasionally Gidgiddoni might have a large garrison who would harm Giddianhi's army but never anything large enough to stop him from coming back again.
The only way Werner is going to get anywhere is if we as a global community can agree and enforce universal laws to hinder and punish cyber-attackers. Unity is what saved Gidgiddoni's people unity can save ours.

Hardrive Technical Blog
Symptoms:
I had two hardrives the original had a system file error so I wanted to boot to the second drive.
Gathering Information:
I discovered on this site that the problem was most likely in either my jumper settings or the position of the drives on the cable.
Hypothesis:
H1. Change cable placement
H2. Change jumper settings
Results:
H1 was rejected. Instead of a system file error my machine didn't detect a hardrive at all.
H2 was accepted. After numerous jumper combination with no results I discovered that the jumper key on one hardrive was printed backwards. After resetting the jumpers the original hardrive was accepted as the slave and I now able to boot to my new master drive.
Reflection:
This is normally a pretty easy job to switch your master and slave drives. It is pretty safe to set your drives for cable select and use your cable to pick which drive is which. However not all drives have this option so you need to find the right settings for each drive like in my case. It also helps if the instructions printed on your drive are correct.

Stress and Computer Security
As a teenager I was never fond of doing my work I hated it and would avoid it at all cost. After having served a mission however i began to understand the benefits from effective study habits. What might you say does this have to do with stress and not doing my work? Well I discovered this week as applied some of the habits that I had developed on my mission I spent less time being stressed out about my school work needing to be done because i had done it! I began to think about this a little bit more after having ports explained to me. A computer has many ports and those that are left open and unattended are prime points for an attack. If one relates this to stress we have many points or "ports" in our lives that if left unattended can act as if they were open ports where not a hacker but stress can attack.
To conclude as I find these different ports in my life and effectively address them I will be decreasing the number of possible "stress attacks" that reduction will help me to be more effective and productive in a world full of fast-paced work environments and deadlines.

Learning Model
The learning model consists of three parts namely prepare, teach others, and ponder and prove. As we apply these principles to learning we have a greater opportunity to retain the knowledge that as presented to us. A perfect example of preparing is shown to us by the Brother of Jared "1 And it came to pass that the brother of Jared, (now the number of the vessels which had been prepared was eight) went forth unto the mount, which they called the mount Shelem, because of its exceeding height, and did molten out of a rock sixteen small stones; and they were white and clear, even as transparent glass; and he did carry them in his hands upon the top of the mount." Jared prepared himself to receive an answer to his question "How will we have light in our barges?". After our preparation we are asked to help those around us both for their benefit and for our own because to teach another you must have a basic knowledge of the concept you are trying to teach. Lastly we ponder and prove the concept or as I like to think of it we absorb and apply the things we have been taught to further cement our understanding of that which we have learned.
I will be applying this model as I prepare through doing the homework asked of me, through prayer, and through arriving mentally ready to learn. I will teach others by participating in class, taking part in the "weekly expert" program, and helping those around me as I am able. Finally I will ponder and prove as I complete projects and assignment throughout the semester.
